When you think of "Commodore" systems, what colors do you think of? šŸ¤”

As we work on LoadstarCE.com I was trying to think of a color palette to start with and realized that what colors people identify as "Commodore" could vary greatly based on which machines they used.

For me, two different color palettes instantly come to mind when I think of "Commodore" computers. The first is the stark black, white & silvers of the VIC-20 and also of PETs with a green monochrome screen. As a kid, before our family had our first computers in the house, my exposure to computers started with PETs that were sitting idle in the back of a school classroom because the teachers didn't know what to do with them and that is where I really started being able to be 'hands-on' with computers. After that I think of the original dark brown C64 'breadbin' machines because that is what I started with at the house (along with a white datasette). Eventually between myself and my brother-in-law, we both built up some full decked out C64 systems.

Going on a slight tangent, my brother did not get into Commodore. While I was playing with the C64 he was mostly into video game systems and he veered to Apple with an Apple //e being his first home computer. Around the time of me playing with Amiga he was into the Apple //gs. By the end of the 80's our preferences aligned with us both eventually switching to PCs. These days I am PC/Android and he's Mac/iOS with a PC for games but for a wonderful period of time we both had access to, and were able to switch back & forth, between variously configured Commodore, Amiga, Apple, and PC systems.

But back to the topic at hand, Commodore colors. Close your eyes for a minutes and think "Commodore", what colors do you see?
