Woot! I've been wanting one of these for some time now and it's sale for $79.99 (normally $109.99) at Amazon! 😀 The Commodore C64 and Famicon models are at $79.99 while the Nintendo NES edition is at $88.00 (normally $99.99) and the "M" editions is at $84.99 (normally $99.99). As I rebuild my home office, this will be a perfect addition to my desk.

They have a matching Commodore C64 inspired keypad (link) but I don't see it on sale and is listed for the normal $44.99 price.

.... and fast forward a few months, I'm typing this from my new Commodore inspired mechanical keyboard. 😀

I recently picked up a new PC desktop for the first time in about 15 years or so, maybe 20, a Dell system that is likely overpowered & overpriced for my needs, but the keyboard that came with it has got to be one of the worst keyboards I've had the misfortune of using. It is an ultra-thin keyboard with those soft 'chicklet' style keys, and missing a CTRL key to the right of the space bar. Instead of the CTRL key to the right of the spacebar it has a Microsoft Copilot key instead; I realize that is now becoming common but it has also become a thorn in my side. I've spent a lifetime using keyboards after learning touch-typing on an IBM Selectric back in the 80's, removing keys from keyboard and/or replacing them with a different key, is something that I think will be one of my 'grump old man' gripes for years to come.

Back to the 8BitDo keyboard... I love this thing so far. It just feels right when cranking out code.

Emulator fans though will be disappointed with there being no PETSCII characters printed on the keys, that really would've been a nice touch for the C= crows. But I can understand why they didn't do it, the 8BitDo retro keyboards are available in different themes like C=, Famicon, Sega Saturn, and others with the difference between them being colors so if they included PETSCII for just the C= version then they would've ended up with a keyset that would've been for a very specific buying demographic and of not much interest to anybody else who may be switching keysets.
