Plumb Crazy

Alas, such is the march of progress! Our beloved 8 bit machines get left behind - a curiosity to those willing to tinker with antique computing power.

Back in 1998, I discovered Frodo - what I considered a fairly good emulator. I set to the task of making a PC home for Loadstar. A dear friend saw what I was doing and exclaimed, "Ah! A giant leap backwards!!"

From the Technological Manifest Destiny Perspective (Heavily foisted upon us), he was right. Within a couple of years, the C64 was deemed obsolete, not because it quit working, but rather because bigger, better, brighter machines were eminently more marketable. Indeed, from a marketing perspective, the C64 decade of production lasted way too long. It was the Model T of computers, followed by the Model A (A for Amiga). Both were made commercially obsolete by the insane growth of the X56 compatibility machines.

Well - I'm too old for whatever Frodo is. There was a time when I would figure out how to download/install it. But I don't understand all the techie stuff anymore. Where is a nice INSTALL?
