*** UPDATE: Please see post #2 below! The Loadstar Compleat collection is now being maintained & updated by @rodneylives! *****

The Loadstar Compleat magazine archive is still available for purchase and download from Fender Tucker! It includes disk issues 1-199 for C64/128 and disk issues 1-42 for C128 in both D64 & D81 disk images.

It also includes most of the archive of the many Loadstar newsletters, cover images, music files that have been converted to MP3, and several images organized by Fender.

You can place your order to download the entire collection for $15 USD here here, and please tell Fender Loadstar CE sent you!

Here's some of what is included. Fender adds to the collection as he comes stuff in the archives.
 • All 199 issues of LOADSTAR in .d64 and .d81 format
 • All 42 issues of LOADSTAR 128 in .d64 format
 • .TXT files of all of the text on the issues for fast searching on your PC
 • All 21 issues of UpTime (a rival disk magazine that LOADSTAR soundly defeated and bought)
 • JPGs of all of the color covers of the issues when LOADSTAR was sold in stores
 • PDFs of all 73 issues of The LOADSTAR Letter, Jeff Jones' excellent newsletter companion to LOADSTAR
 • MP3s of selected Knees Calhoon songs
 • .d64 files of every LOADSTAR product published separately from the monthly issues: the Compleat Bible, the Compleat Programmer, all five LOADSTAR Extras, Barbara Schulak's puzzles, etc.
 • All of Dave Marquis' SID and MIDI music
 • All of Walt Harned's artwork -- Walt is the most prolific artist ever for the Commodore computer
 • ... and whatever else Fender could find from the historic LOADSTAR archives.

With Fender's blessing, I have set up a distribution of Loadstar Compleat on itch.io. (He's getting on in years and wants to move the distribution of Loadstar on to me.) It's $15 there, but Loadstar can still be gotten from other places if that's too much for you. It's all automated: you get a link to download it from immediately. If you have an itch.io account, it'll remember you bought it and you'll have immediate access to any updates. (I'm working on a script that will load programs from within their disk images directly, and a list of highlights you can jump to.) If you have the itch.io client, it can even download them for you automatically.

At the moment, this gets you what I think is a direct copy of the files from the CD. I've added gumpy's fixed 1581 disks of issues 45-74. (The old versions are still there in a subfolder.) The now-ancient Windows copy of VICE is still included, but you really should use your own installation, VICE has changed greatly since then.

Not only is there a chance, but they should already be in there! If they aren't please let me know, because it means I forgot to do something.

OK, just the description only mentioned 1-199 🙂 (But I see it is updated to mention all 250!)
When the first was post created the "Compleat" collection was still the Google Drive version directly from Fender, since then @rodneylives has taken up the mantle of maintaining the Compleat offering including a new Python based front-end. Anybody going to Fender's Ramble House site for the Compleat collection will be redirected to the new home of Compleat listed in post #2 above.

EDIT: I've edited post #1 above about the update. 🙂
