For anybody who may not have heard already, "Commodore" is back. Sort of. Maybe. Possibly.

The 'Cliff Notes' is that Christian Simpson, a YouTube creator that goes by Perifractic, approached the Dutch company that currently owns the Commodore trademarks about a licensing deal and their response instead was an offer to allow him to buy the trademarks outright and he accepted. He is now assembling a team of folks known in the Commodore community to relaunch the company with new products but at the moment is still working on finalizing the financial requirements of the deal.

A new website has been launched and people can pre-order the C64 Ultimate which is a packaging of the C64 Ultimate FPGA board in a breadbin case so while it's not a "true" C64 hardware offering it is fully C64 compatible while offering HDMI connections, expanded memory, USB connections, and other upgrades. Three different choices are available: classic breadbin beige, a translucent case with LED lighting, or an amber translucent case with gold accents that also comes with a 24K Commodore badge necklace.

We Did It. Commodore Is Home.
This week, ahead of schedule, we made the final payment locking in the deal thanks to you, and CEO Peri Fractic signed the final contracts in The Netherlands, officially acquiring all 47 original Commodore trademarks. After decades adrift, the original brand is finally where it belongs - with fans.
From legendary roots to next-gen innovation, Commodore is now free to build the future we were promised - while proudly honouring the past that started it all.

Just announced this morning on his Patreon page, looks like GEOS-64 will be bundled with the new C64 Ultimate. 😲

"I've always been a fan of GEOS, and the fact you can use it with a joystick too. We've been able to secure official rights from the license holder to include GEOS and several of the suite packages like GeoWrite, GeoPaint, etc. with the Commodore 64 Ultimate."

EDIT: And the product pages for the C64 Ultimate have been updated also. It's not listed (yet?) specifically in the list of items included but a new screenshot has been added to each of the C64 Ultimate product pages. Shown below is the C64 Ultimate Starlight.
